We can do well, by getting lost in conversation, yes? I used to think you together had to reach a decision about the subject of the conversation. As if there were only one subject! Actually there is—the conversation is its own subject, its own reason for meandering as it does, steeping us in something. There may be more depth in here than we realize while we’re in the stew and the stir.
