Conversation is part of the significant life of the community. So we do well to seek to make our conversations significant.

Let us make a practice of reviewing, of writing our recollections, of say one conversation a week or a day.

Get off center stage, stay out of the control booth. Only open the curtains. Turn on a few lights.

Sitting next is ongoing, iterative, expansive. It works better if going in you perceive it as endless, that is, outside time. Leave your stopwatch in the drawer.

A recent report suggests that in REM sleep the mind is sorting out memories to store and memories to discard. This makes sense of a few things for me. This memory gets sorted as similar to that memory of long ago, some feminine persons get shelved near Mom. And if one purpose is to clear out detritus, that explains why we don’t remember our dreams—that’s the job!

We are as clouds intermingling—there is no individual in a cloud—each is made up of other clouds—vaporing, flocculating, stretching, clouds togethering into clouds.
