Might we too serve one another as intermediaries? Growing fires from green sparks this one or that receives or causes? Each grandparent may be able to tune to a few generations on—or to someone who catches a whisper or an evocative phrase.

Tree “talks” to tree via the intermediary hyphae of the mychorrhizal fungi. Perhaps there could be an intermediary across time?

Why do you go to the north pole, climb Everest, walk on Mars? Danger. Yet daring is not the thing—they could have jumped off a building. Effort; stretching. Might just be it. Glory? Unlikely. Money? Unlikely.

Conversing across time frames is impossible, something I see no evidence of people having attempted. I’m not even sure we can human better, let alone what that means.
But I am tying together, tangling, two impossibles: Doing human better; with caring people who have 300 years more experience.
Two impossibles, tangled. Why? Because it needs doing.
