Knowledge and wisdom seem to be on the same continuum; maybe we need to jump off.
:- Doug.
We converse with the 300 year grandchild-elder in part by starting with the 3 year old in front of us. Trust him to carry the conversation.
:- Doug.
The difference:
Thoughts are the quick things that have us
Thinking is a thing most difficult
:- Doug.
Elders are responsible for the creation of new elders out of the raw materials of the young. If we increase our proportion…. We have been granted a special access to the young.

Give the special names to the grandchildren. Challenge them to make the names live up to them.

Aging has become more complex: varieties in health, vigor, sexuality, stances.

Shape the grandchildren?
Shape the circumstances?
Shape swirls moving among?

For the Grandchildren is not personal development but philosophy and activisim: For the Grandchildren is where Philosophy meets Play, and Activism meets the Ages.

Leo Tolstoy writes in Confession “the thing you call your life will come to an end and with it all your questions.” Might there be questions which last? Questions which query the 300-year grandchildren-elders? Can we offer them these questions as our gift?
:- Doug.
There is no single meaning of life. We are the ones to make the meanings. Meaning, life itself: these are the meaning.

Maybe I should run for President. Maybe we all should. We might be heard.
It hit me in the shower: maybe I am the one person in this country who could add some sanity and humanness to the political scene. My model might be the philosopher Václav Havel. But whom do I know, who knows me? It would be an uphill struggle just to get anyone’s attention. Especially without money to buy television time. On the other hand, what does it take to “buy” imagination but imagination? Romance takes many forms.
How? is a stopper. Then? might be a better question. We already know the Why?, so cost, loss, having no visible path are irrelevant. Well?
This is scary. Run screaming. Or silently. Run. Away.
It is not a matter of Can we get there? Ought we go?

If we find the questions we cannot answer, well then! We have found a valuable gift, one to leave to the generations.

Wouldn’t it be wonderful to see a series of political ads like the old Polaroid ads with “Mrs. James Garner,” or the Taster’s Choice romance commercials? Telling a story, relating, pulling you in to ask “What next?’

Make your art to highlight another grandchild’s generative power and art.

I look forward to see what ink patterns this page unfolds from the field.

This poem
has come my way
up to you now
to carry on it and me
handing it over
to she who will
carry us all further still
