Unity and diversity
The elder begins to glimpse the unity and diversity of life, and sees both as integral. Unity is of youth’s idealism, diversity of middling’s troubles and defeats, integrality of eldering’s completions.

Footprints in the Windsm # 1788
We do not search for G-d, or do not have to, for G-d is with us. Emmanuel. We grow in G-d. In doing that, we grow G-d in some way. G-d is not some perfect schoolteacher using whip and carrot to get us to become still more dependent children; rather G-d is more a father, tickling us off his lap to go be our best selves, to grow us larger, to grow us to be more adult, more creative, more of who we are. In doing so, G-d is delighted, and grows better than a human father whose chest is puffed up over the things his children do. G-d actually grows as we grow.
