The past

The past
recent or distant
not only think about
but mostly process
find our new relation to it

Why is this conversation necessary?

Why is this conversation necessary? Because this is where the rubber meets the road, because Indiana has a low rating for caring for our elders, because these people know how to give a higher level of caring to our elders, because we feel held back in some way, because we can do better. Because our role as an organization is not simply to put on a conference, but to raise the level of caring for our elders.

If we could know Alzheimer’s

If we could know Alzheimer’s
were in our future
we would respond as we respond to life
accept, fight, despair, proceed in the face
we cannot so far protect people from disease
nor predict their response
nor what possibilities their response might create
