glimpses of larger

It makes it hard to hear
When your tongue is in your ear

When talking with elders—our peers—do we seek the benefit of their wisdom and insight?

Conversation’s embrace is global
gathering the children as they run in
sometimes and seldom one at a time
for perhaps there is no time
no one else
:- Doug.
Refusal to talk is probably, for humans, not final.

If you want a doctor’s skills at end of life to give you a second chance with those around you, forget the doctor: today is your second chance. If you want those skills to hang on to what breath is leaving you, breathe deeply today. Here, however, is a valid vital use of those skills: to keep you present in your final moments.
