There is this one fabric called life and all living things are part of it unfolded for a time then folded back in. If what I have just said has an element of truth in it, then we should be able, individually or maybe only together, to listen to the folding and unfolding patterns of living that want to come through us.

The heart has ways of learning
the head and the hand know not
and they as well
:- Doug.
Open Space is a method of problem solving, or for those of you more hands-on or who think organically, a way of weaving issues and opportunities and the people who care.

He removes the log from your eye
You remove the speck from hers
Together we see more and more and more

Speak the word new
Draw the circle larger
Brave now, courage, converse
Include the student, the lesser
Include the politician, the lost
Go off-script: small voices make new

Footprints in the Windsm # 1425
We think of courage as fire
As cliff and more than that
As jumping off that cliff
Into the fire but what if it is more
Something to slog through
Oozing through your toes?
Please pass it on.

What’s to fear in a poet?
What’s to fear in a Quaker?
Fear for your very life!
:- Doug.
We don't have to look for our weaknesses Or the limits in our way of seeing the world We can just turn our eyes Toward us Already What good we create! What beauty we see! What new truths we embrace! Together :- Doug.
The sponsor, the facilitator, does not open space
Nor was it there all along for us to walk into
Each poster, each word, each ear, each heart creates the space open
:- Doug.
All things are reflections of all others
mirrors who cannot see their own reflections
babies are drawn to babies
puppies to puppies
maybe even water on the hills to water in the sea
look deeply enough—are we afraid?—and we see wherever we look all there is
not just the jewels on Indra’s net
all reflect all
:- Doug.
The world out there
is not
As solid as
you think
Changing as much as
you think
Much of the world out there
you think
So keep reminding yourself
the world out there
is not
:- Doug.
interplay
of mind and matter
gives us space,
time, and causality
so interplay of minds,
hearts, and wills—spirit—
gives us what comes next
:- Doug.
heart—beauty—compassionate—us—invite
mind—truth—reflect—poetry—imagine
hand—goodness—create—whole-making—engage
The spiraling of these is called spirit
:- Doug.
