When you offer a topic and invite us
You are making a pledge
Sacred on your name
To see we talk not fear but possibility
Possibility, your sacred promise

If you turn to God and the return is silence, maybe you are being given a taste of the infinitely deep, compassionate, silent language of heaven. God’s native language seems to be silence.

What do they do to you?
How do they bring us close
To our elemental togetherness?
I cajole, I plead with you
What is the elusive
Fundamental
Joy to which they open,
A valley in the morning
sun and dew?
I leave a stillness open before you
Tell me your sadness
To remind me of mine
And us of one fleeting
Eternal
Joy
