This is the epicenter
Everything happens from here
Our gathering can model our desired future
:- Doug.
Action starts with
A felt shift of consciousness
When No becomes a possible Yes
Shifts emerge from conversing
Pain told
And Heard
Conversation is the action step
:- Doug.

When you gather with us in this circle
When you offer a topic and invite us
You are making a pledge
Sacred on your name
To see we talk not fear but possibility
Possibility, your sacred promise
:- Doug.
If you turn to God and the return is silence, maybe you are being given a taste of the infinitely deep, compassionate, silent language of heaven. God’s native language seems to be silence.
:- Doug.
Conversation invites people to be courageous.
:- Doug.
As long as we are together, we are finding, making.
:- Doug.
We can be anynow, anyhere.
:- Doug.
Don’t say anything at all,
If you can’t say something radical:
If you can’t bring love
:- Doug.
Our clients belong to us
But do we belong to them?
:- Doug.
Now, make good conversation.
:- Doug.
Spirit,
join us,
here,
now,
as we go about our work
for our clients and community
our work of
Inventing alternative futures
:- Doug.
We invent alternative futures.
:- Doug.
Something new
You’ll see
Tilt the floor
:- Doug.
We live in ambiguity
In ambiguity we live
Anxiety and paradox lead us to emerge
Questions are our sacred dimension
Finding our own way is the way
:- Doug.
All transformation is conversational.
:- Doug.
We are at the center of the universe
The really real is constituted by perceiving and making
Our task then is to convene the centers for the real work
:- Doug.
Have you a blueprint
For where we’re going?
Go, gather with the engineers and mechanics
Have you a dream and a need?
Gather with us
Perplexed and willing
Starting slowly
Small group
Feeling our way
Asking what matters and works
:- Doug.
Something new
shows up every time
we gather
So the invitation is always
a future distinct from the past
a future discontinuous from the past
Something new
:- Doug.
You belong to this program
But does the program belong
To you?
:- Doug.
Daily:
Are you feeding the beast?
Or are you feeding humanity?
:- Doug.

Tears, sadness, loss
Tell me, oh tell me:
What do they do to you?
How do they bring us close
To our elemental togetherness?
I cajole, I plead with you
What is the elusive
Fundamental
Joy to which they open,
A valley in the morning
sun and dew?
I leave a stillness open before you
Tell me your sadness
To remind me of mine
And us of one fleeting
Eternal
Joy
Please pass it on.

Much of what we hear
—If we hear—
May be metaphor
