Big corporations serve

Big corporations serve, some say
Supplying human needs and creating jobs
But examine:
What do they say is their purpose?
What do they tell shareholders?
What do they tell employees?
What do they measure?
Souls saved?
Freedoms increased?
Families brought together?
People raised out of poverty?
Wealth distributed
Or accumulated?

Soul string between money and sports

What is the soul string
between money & sports?
See all the ads

Is it both seek dominance,
Taking, winning
I can control what “consumers” do
(They are not people like me
Only objects to make me rich)

Or satisfactions of bodily desires
Stretching muscles &
grabbing a beer and steak?

Or is greed at work
One more win is like unto
Getting this expensive car?

Such intimate connections!
Such lovers!
(Or rather one lover
One user)
For one seeks play
The other self-gratification

Or people like us

Other might mean alien
Or people like us
Or finally seeing our selves
As we seldom see us but really are
—Sacred—
Holy, holy, holy
Other, other, other

To live is to fit

To live is to fit
To love is to respond
To be real is to be flexible

Making them smaller

When we put names on objects and people, we make them smaller than they are.
