The larger is already present. We have a choice to open ourselves to it.

As if we were
When we read a history of times we lived through, we see its dangling threads—as if there were one thread! As if we were of one mind making our way with the end in that mind. And yet the as if is true in these stated ways; all but the notion of having one destination in mind at beginning.
