What’s the choice you are confronting now?
What’s the crisis? What’s the choice you seem to be confronting now in your life?

What’s the crisis? What’s the choice you seem to be confronting now in your life?

Seeing G*d as the whole (bringing forth centers, with or without firsts or seconds) it becomes easier for me to (in an ever growing way) say—and see—Lord.
:- Doug.
Does the whole create the centers in it? Does the conversation give birth to the people who give birth to the betweens? Do the betweens call into existence each person? Does the music invite the notes…and the musicians? Do they arise together, no first, no second?

A center, a focal point: from here life radiates.
We are then about generating more life. And the way to do that is to provide this center, this focal point, this conversation.
Then in their way, debates and discussions also serve this, but not as well as conversation and collaboration, for debates and discussion give us a stopping point, and miss the opening out.

Are the spaces necessary? The place for the fire to flare up, the field into which to emerge, the membrane or narrow ridge where an entity forms just for an instant—the butterfly who exists but for a night and a day? The spaces are the and in one and one make two—necessary but unseen. Totally present and absolutely invisible. But more than present, essential. We cannot meet without space. When we converse on the phone, where is the conversation? What is the sound of one hand clapping? There is none, because the clap requires the other, and even that is not enough, but essential is the meeting. What is the conversation of one person meeting? One personality of that one person meeting?

Nature loves life. Nature craves life. So the new species will have one thing we can be sure of: more life.

I try to avoid the word discussion, for to me it rhymes with percussion and concussion, and I do not wish to inflict such violence!
:- Doug.
In conversation entities form for one instant….

I have made an It of this person. Buber would say it happens a hundred times an hour in any relation—people wash in and out of the sea of Its to stand up as persons all the time. It is work to stand on the narrow ridge between; I fall.
The point is to scramble back up the ridge and keep scrambling back up the ridge.

There is more life in more conscious conversation.

A Power of Attorney can be living—to the extent it contributes to a higher degree of life.
:- Doug.
We are in conversation creating life, creating new persons and new peoples: the new human kind.
:- Doug.
The difference between conversation and say, drama, is that drama attends the problem and the pain: O, my love has betrayed me! Conversation attends to creating life. Look—we can!
:- Doug.
All my work has to do with creating life in people: more precisely between persons.
