spoon, hand, eye, porcupine: only because of language & agreements of humans…

We create our world out of language. Once we put a word to something, we have lifted up this something from the background, given it color and edges. This is why we are desperate to know the name of our disease—for then we fence it, put a handle on it, control it. Language, conversation and persons are of one cloth. Our existence depends on the openness of others to say our name and mean us, to recognize us in conversation. A traffic signal performs its function and is a traffic signal only because of the language and agreements of humans. More subtly, the same is true of a spoon, a hand, an eye, a porcupine, a brick wall.

Dollars & Numbers are a limiting way to look at the world–they do not…

Dollars and Numbers are a limited and limiting way of looking at the world. They do not represent everything there is, nor everything that is important, nor can they.

Beyond this: Dollars and Numbers are creatures of humanity. They are unknown to butterflies and chipmunks.

Numbers state relationships: this number of X is more than this number. All mathematics are ways of stating relationships: + – * / Σ ∆ ∏ √ ³. In this way, math does give us a language for the real, but it is only a map, not the territory. X numbers of people below the poverty line does not convey the tears and bone tiredness and invisibility. For that we need a song “Cellophane” in a movie Chicago. Our numbers cannot for me express what it is like to be looked right through, but my experience tells me.

Numbers do more than collect large groups of similars: they tend to tell us the similars are sames, when they are not. They remove the experience of the muscles and emotions and soul and spirit.

If we begin to think that our math is the only real, we have restricted our thinking, made it rigid, as Bohm says.

Beyond this: is it also an imaginary realm? It can be.

Which is more real? That may not be the best question, for they are both real. However, Which is more fundamental, more at the base? Which is the territory beyond the map?

Let it Flow! Let it Flow! Let it…

Yes, we do see the outside (world) as full of fears; the fire of life of the all there is is delightful. Let it flow! Let it flow in, let it flow out, let it flow among and between. The flowing never stops—it is the stuff of creation, and we cannot go where it does not flow. The corn of Numbers and Dollars and the temporary world is just that—corn. The lights of this world are turned low because the light with which we see is so much lighter. The lights of this world are the storm, but it is the storm of life that is real—if we remember and hold tight each other, we can be warm all the way. Home.

Let it flow! Let it flow! Let it flow!

We are more needed than we ever imagined…

We are verb: we are flowing. We are in divinity, touching the all there is, and our flowing makes us, makes the difference. We are more needed than we ever imagined.

In beginning is verb…

In beginning is verb
Through verb were all things made
Was no noun before verb
Verbs are the light in
The darkness of nouns
Whether or not we grasp
our role as verb

People are a generative field…

People are a generative field. People are part of a generative field, each a hologram of that field, but only full when entwined fully in that field. A koosh ball whose fingers reach out to touch, invite, caress and create.

This whole of which we are part we have called God. This whole is alive, intelligent, wanting all alive and wanting the best of all and for all and gathering (all aspects of what we call love). This whole is distributed but not diffuse, rather pointed and intent on meeting and encountering. This whole means to get personal, for therein are we generative and growing and alive.

What if we saw the little old lady next door, the child in the play yard, and the person of a different color in the protest group as insightful persons, valuable to meet and valuable to get to meet—valuable because generative?

You are of this world/You are this world/

You are of this world
You are this world
You are necessary
Without you all that needs doing won’t get done
Can’t get done
This is true of all of us in here
We come alive in all the betweens of us
And especially in the amongs
And the among
All of us
Here?
Is divinity
Swirling divinity
Creating worlds
Divinity, you are of this world

Flow is metaphor. What is the pure fact?

Flow is metaphor. What is the pure fact? That you move and respond and swirl and spiral and hug. That you are that moving and we are that moving too. Our movement is not ours alone but is of the whole, we are of you. Not part of you, for there are no separations: of you. Yet, we are agency, cause, too. We are set loose to see what we can do. This is not so incredible as it might seem for as of you we are agency. We generate. Together only makes sense too because it is the whole which holds the whole and the unfolding of the whole.

Footprints in the Windsm # 954

Footprints in the Windsm # 954

To round out our work
To hear the work telling us what needs doing
To enter into the space between never knowing where or how we will end up, with the purpose of throwing ourselves fully into its adventure for good
To seek out others of like heart
To let the work tell you what it wants—where the natural turns & breaks & curves are—so you can avoid forcing and cracking its utility and beauty
To be curious about how all this will come out…
To wait out beyond our grasping for immediate results so as to allow something of ourselves—and others’—O and all others’—out to full play, knowing—no, hoping & expecting—something larger will play with us…
To open space for new life, curious & squalling
To open in ourselves a space of mind…
This is the way of life; we can choose

We are able to change the way the unfolding happens

We are able to change the way the unfolding happens—not in the precise way we choose to have it unfold, but we can influence it, we can do a little more than influence it—we can nudge and push and tug—and so what we do does change its course in our direction. So…if we get enough of us pulling and tugging and spitting and blowing, we might just make something unexpected.

We are within you, G*d, in the swirl…

We are within you, G*d, in the swirl, in your face and you in ours. Our swirl touches and moves your swirl.

We are bathed in you. “Washed in the blood of the lamb,” only the lamb lives and the blood is life force which stains us as able. It is up to us to do what we are able.
