#openspace evidence of our imagination…

We do not have imaginal discs: we are human, not insects. But we have imagination and spirit which in the human amounts to the same thing, and it is this that is the seed of our next nature.

What is the evidence I have of this? The laboratory of life and of Open Space: people working together accomplish more, change themselves, change the world: in character, not just degree. Tsunami, hurricane, 9-11 are transformed into new resolve and love outpouring. Persons telling their pain leads to peoples taking action for them all together. No longer particles grasping, people become whole, unified in their variegated skills and passions.

More than security we want…

More than security we want certainty. When we are feeling insecure, we want to make sure that our next step is on some certainty. Security is only an interim position: if we cannot have this certainty, then at least we can be secure: we can curl up into a fetal position and not go outside. So we need to experience certainty to be able to step into the world and the present.

What if your poetry lost value?

Today, people are wringing their hands that their investments lost 12 ¼% of their value. What if your poetry lost 12 ¼% of its value? Or your time given to a specific homeless person? Or your love?

Any local enlarged conversation works on the sidereal scale:

What we are doing with any local enlarged conversation is working on the sidereal scale: we are transforming humanity into something larger, different in kind not just size.

Different in nature. Touching something larger than one life, larger than a multiplicity of persons, of a new quality: whole, inclusive, working.

Teamwork is training whees to walking:

Learning teamwork is going from walking to a bike with training wheels
Discussion is to conversation as tadpole is to frog
Human is to the trans-human as cloud to clear sky
What we work for is a new human kind

What is the world I see?

What is the world I see? Actually not a world but a people: connected with life blood at the center, reaching out to embrace.

One, variegated. Living in song and story and poetry. Working together from the heart. Bringing forth good.

Leaning in toward one another: heard. Touching: touched. Rolling up sleeves, plunging hands into mud, building a human-faced world. Flashing. Lifting the weakened, feeding the hungry, using the imaginations, wisdom and passion of each: poor, humble, rich, known, unknown. Unfolding a new species—fully collaborative, our blood vessels tying us together by what flows through, calling on each other—larger than the total of our multiplicities, bringing forth the larger than life, a species beyond imagining.

Already one; but most under a cloth diaphanous or blanketing

It is our inmost selves who are already one. Hidden from view, touched and touching by a few, covered as by a grey cloth for most, a cloth diaphanous or blanketing. From here we reach out into the world, as our awareness opens the way: some to contend, some to embrace.

The between dimension

How we shall be, how we shall live, a new form of species, is what is at stake: A new dimension that we have not lived before. The between dimension.

The between dimension. We are wide, tall and thick; we are also connecting. We may be connected or disconnected from others and from the all there is, at any particular time.

We are not complete organisms–

“We always tend to forget that the supernatural is a leaven, a life-principle, not a complete organism.” Pierre Teilhard de Chardin, Hymn of the Universe, p 111. We humans are not complete organisms, either. We need each other; we need the divine. When we reach out to others and to G*d, we are remembering that we are incomplete, and we seek to complete ourselves with others and the whole. No, we are not complete organisms: we are completing.

We insist:

We insist
We matter, all living matters
Collaborating we emerge
Betweens live

We insist
On inviting, bumping, turning
On birthing new higher humanity
We make ourselves the issue at stake

Who is under the grey cloth? All of us!

It is not just single persons who are under the grey cloth, but us all! Like the television ad for clearing minds and sight, we see through that grey cloth and it is obvious to us we see aright, but when we poke the holes and lift the grey away, we see brilliance and clarity. And so we lift this grey cloth from between.
