It is a frightening thing to meet another human being, yes?
This is why we fear death, for the other human has the opportunity, with a glance, to negate our being, or bring us to birth.

What happens in conversation? Life happens. We birth and are born. We add to the discovered powers of persons.

To use is something you do to It; to experience is something It does to you.

Even in chit-chat
Even in chit-chat can be the glance: sharing music, remembering sayings of our younger years—memory ticklers—; finding agreement across divides. When we notice, we can hope to sustain and attend. What we seek is to know and be known.

In playing together can be the glance, sometime as wink. Playing together can be entry way. Playing together and working together: who can tell a difference?

What is the right action this moment seeks from us?

Birth for something
What is important is not only the birth of human persons in meeting, but the birth for something. First there is body, then soul, then the largest, highest, deepest is spirit. If we do not invest our spirits, we have held back and the life we get in return is wrinkled before it is greening. If we do not invest for our spirits, life dies.

It is not about this subject of our conversation, but about loving the people.
