I am person emerging

Emergence of persons: this is significant. It is persons emerging from the meeting. It is persons who are whole, complete, and therefore engaged in their lives and world. It is persons engaged in our evolution. Persons emerging.

I am person emerging. I emerge most wholly from meeting, because I am freely fully contributed and we are fully engaged. Life is emerging, through you and me.

Pulling and pushing are both necessary.

We have a need in this universe to both love and hate, both attract and repel. What we don’t need is the war between them and the extra heat of feeling bad about the conflict. Conflict is necessary. Pulling and pushing are both necessary. Something that will not budge is necessary—maybe to grow our muscles, maybe to keep our muscles in tune, maybe to give us impetus to try harder or to decide when enough is enough and go on to something more important. Maybe a hundred other reasons. How do we know till we get to the other side? And maybe even then we still will not yet know.

Love, attraction, whoosh

Love, relation, attraction, whoosh—all are names for the same phenomenon: drawing together of beings one to the others in the world there is.

People acting together can

There’s not a problem in the world that people acting together cannot solve.

There is not an opportunity that persons together cannot create and make happen.

The only thing that ever has worked has been a small group of people doing.

I do not wish to contend or argue

I do not wish to contend and argue. To argue is to lose—for one if not both. Better to ask questions, to gather out the other’s stories. Explore. Find a person.

Do not take what I say for true…

Do not take what I say for true: prove for yourself. These are my probings of the world to find what is the message to my own life.

We form the edges of G*d…

We form the circle, the edges of G*d, by our going out:

G*d outwards

Go out to meet more

Meet your life; meet our life; meet who emerges; go out to meet more.

Meeting our work

We can meet G*d and our selves in our work, our activity, by becoming participants, part of the work, by losing ourselves in the work so that someone else emerges on the other side.

The extended lines

The extended lines of meeting pass through the eternal. You want to see G*d? “There I am in between you.” When you turn to one another, you turn to me.

Through G*d

After the meeting, meeting

When does the meeting start? After the meeting.

This is how life moves outward

This is how life moves outward:
by breathing in
and breathing out

and by still spaces between.

When we turn to face outside the circle

Opening space means that whatever happens happens, whoever engages engages, and when we gather and disperse is the right time. The true open space, in Buber’s terms, would be the going out into the community from the meeting to meet others and meet more, not the gathering itself. This is how we meet the world and enlarge it. The gathering alone can bend in upon itself becoming egoic, small-group-self-centered, and closing up. When we turn to face out from the circle, this is the opening.

What does it mean to us—an ever more inclusive us—to open space?

Who are you?

Who are you? You cannot say, nor can I say of You. We can only know each other. Know is dynamic, active, doing: from this emerges our being and our meaning. You are emerging. I am emerging. More is emerging. We can never be who we were, only who emerges.
